Over the years GSBL has been active in a wide range of broadband areas (signal processing, high speed electronics, optical and wireless communications, network engineering, economic and social aspects of telecommunications, etc).

GSBL also built a longstanding tradition of collaboration with industry, at national and international level.

In the last decade the issue of knowledge transfer has received a special attention alongside the challenges of competence building and employability.
